How we work

  • We use the government's own figures.A missing reuse sentence, a copyright notice, or a noncommercial term on a government page does not keep a figure out. National Association of Insurance Commissioners systems, and seals and logos, stay out.
  • Every figure has a citation. Each number points to the regulator document and page it was parsed from, with the date we retrieved it.
  • We report facts, not ratings. No grades and no rankings. If a source doesn't list a figure, the cell stays blank.
